In 2005 there was no cancer treatment for children in Ventura county. Families made repeated arduous journeys to Los Angeles for care.
But the story of one family inspired the women of the National Charity League Juniors to raise funds for the VCMRF directly for the care of children with cancer and blood diseases in Ventura County.
Lead by Dr. Francisco Bracho MD, the program has a full scope of services with an infusion clinic, bilingual staff, inpatient chemotherapy, sedated procedures, blood banking and clinical research.
